20 листопада у бібліотеці відбулася презентація локального проекту «Цифрова колекція раритетів», метою якого є створення та розміщення на офіційному web-сайті бібліотеки електронного ресурсу, до якого увійдуть оцифровані видання з приватних книжкових колекцій відомих миколаївських діячів, колекцій прижиттєвих видань видатних письменників і вчених, тематичних колекцій. Початковим етапом стало оцифрування книжкової колекції родини Аркасів, члени якої наприкінці ХІХ – на поч. ХХ ст. брали активну участь у житті бібліотеки і сприяли поповненню її фонду.
У презентації взяли участь викладачі вищих навчальних закладів, вчителі загальноосвітніх шкіл Миколаївської області, науково-педагогічні працівники Миколаївського обласного інституту післядипломної педагогічної освіти, представники громадських установ міста.
Під час заходу кандидат історичних наук, доцент кафедри українознавства, викладач навчальних курсів з історії й культурології України Миколаївського національного аграрного університету Т.В. Березовська познайомила присутніх з життям і творчим доробком М.М. Аркаса. Сучасну діяльність миколаївського товариства «Просвіта» детально висвітлила кандидат філологічних наук, член Громадської організації «Українське товариство «Просвіта» Миколаївщини» І.Ю. Береза. Вчитель історії, керівник музею Першої української гімназії ім. М. Аркаса М.А. Корсун розповіла про організацію науково-дослідної роботи гімназистів.
Особливу зацікавленість присутніх викликали видання з приватної колекції Аркасів, на сторінках яких є маргінальні позначки, що були зроблені членами відомої родини.
Співробітники бібліотеки поділилися подальшими планами щодо поповнення електронного ресурсу книжковими колекціями громадських діячів, письменників, вчених – В. Рюміна, М. Манганарі, О. Понятовського, М. Паризо де-ла-Валетта та інших. Завдяки новій ініціативі бібліотеки користувачі познайомляться з унікальними книжковими зібраннями минулих століть у цифровому форматі і зможуть використовувати даний матеріал в наукових й освітніх цілях.

A Presentation of the Project «Digital Collection of Rarities » Was Held
On November 20, at the library the presentation of the local project « Digital Collection of Rarities» took place, which aims to create and publish on the official website of the electronic resource library, which will include digitized publications from private book collections of well-known Mykolayiv figures, collections of lifetime publications by prominent writers and scientists, thematic collections. The initial stage was the digitization of the book collection of the Arkas family, whose members at the end of the 19th century – at the beginning 20th century took an active part in the life of the library and contributed to the replenishment of its fund.
The teachers of higher educational institutions, teachers of secondary schools of the Mykolayiv region, scientific and pedagogical workers of the Mykolaiv regional institute of postgraduate pedagogical education, representatives of public organizations of the city took place in the presentation.
During the event, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, teacher of educational courses on history and cultural studies of Ukraine Mykolaiv National Agrarian University T.V. Berezovska introduced present with life and Arkas's creative achievements. The current activity of the Mykolaiv Society "Prosvita" was elucidated in detail by the candidate of philological sciences, a member of «The Ukrainian society "Prosvita" of the Mykolaiv region» I. Bereza. The teacher of history, head of the museum of the First Ukrainian gymnasium named after M. Arkas M. A. Korsun told about the organization of research work of high school students.
The special interest of the audience was caused by publications from the private collection of Arkas’ family, on pages of which there are marginal marks made by members of the famous family.
The employees of the library shared their plans for replenishing electronic resources with book collections of public figures, writers, scientists – V. Ryumin, M. Manganari, A. Poniatovsky, M. Parizo and others.. Thanks to the new initiative of the library users will be introduced to the unique digital collections of past centuries and will be able to use this material for scientific and educational purposes.
