13 листопада за ініціативою Центру міжнародного партнерства відбулася онлайн-зустріч з волонтеркою Центру та учасницею програми «Fulbright Graduate Student Program» Альоною Павленко.
Під час заходу спікерка розповіла про те, як вона готувалася до участі у Програмі, терміни та етапи відбору, які вона пройшла, пакет документів, які необхідно зібрати та надати апліканту, процес фінансування учасників Програми, а також поділилася лайфхаками щодо проходження інтерв'ю та здачі стандартизованих тестів з англійської мови TOEFL та GRE та ін.
Альона розповіла про сам процес навчання у UMass Lowell research university (штат Массачусетс, США), непростий шлях здобуття ступеня магістру зі спеціальності "Сонячні та вітрові технології", про систему навчання студентів в університеті та проходження практики у м. Остін (штат Техас), ресурсну базу бібліотеки університету, в якій вона проводила більшість позанавчального часу. Не обійшла увагою гостя і свої подорожі різними містами та штатами США.
Наприкінці Альона порадила всім, хто ще вагається, бути наполегливими та спробувати свої сили у даній Програмі.
My experience of participating in the Fulbright Graduate Student Program
On November 13, at the initiative of the Center of International Partnership, an online meeting was held with the Center's volunteer and Fulbright Graduate Student Program participant Alyona Pavlenko.
During the event, the speaker spoke about how she was preparing to participate in this program, the timing and stages of selection she went through, the package of documents to be collected and provided to the applicant and what to pay attention to, and shared life hacks on interviews and standardized TOEFL and GRE English language tests, etc. The guest did not miss the process of financing the participants of the Program, his participation in the Program for intensive study of English (Ohio, USA).
Alyona also spoke about the process of studying at UMass Lowell research university (Massachusetts, USA) and the difficult way to obtain a master's degree in "Solar and Wind Technologies".
