16 лютого у бібліотеці відбувся турнір знавців української мови «Барви рідного слова», присвячений Міжнародному дню рідної мови.
У конкурсах змагалися дві команди – «Краєзнавці» і «Мовознавці», до складу яких увійшли студенти Миколаївського фахового коледжу культури і мистецтв та учні Миколаївського професійного машинобудівного ліцею. Своє ставлення до рідної мови команди продемонстрували у мистецькому конкурсі «Ілюстратори», зобразивши своє бачення українських прислів’їв «Язик до Києва доведе» та «За двома зайцями поженешся, жодного не спіймаєш». Учасники показали свої знання з правил української мови, музичної творчості, українських народних загадок та приказок. Дуже цікавим став конкурс для капітанів команд, де вони були зобов’язані надати відповіді на запропоновані запитання.
Присутні дізналися про дивовижні факти зі світу української мови та літератури, що постійно висвітлюються на віртуальному майданчику – бібліотечному блозі «Книжковий континент». У чесних змаганнях команда «Краєзнавці» отримала звання найкращого знавця української мови та символічний приз.
З книгами та періодичними виданнями за темою заходу з фонду обласної бібліотеки учасники ознайомилися на виставці «Рідна мова – життя духовного основа».

Ukrainian language experts tournament
On February 16, the library hosted a tournament of Ukrainian language experts "Colors of the native language", dedicated to the International Mother Language Day.
Two teams competed in competitions - "Local historians" and "Linguists" which structure included students of the Mykolaiv professional college of culture and arts and pupils of the Mykolaiv professional machine-building lyceum. The teams demonstrated their attitude to the native language in the art competition "Illustrators", depicting their vision of the Ukrainian proverbs "Language will bring you to Kyiv" and "You will marry two hares, you will not catch one". Participants showed their knowledge of the rules of the Ukrainian language, music, Ukrainian folk riddles and sayings. The competition for team captains was very interesting, where they were obliged to provide answers to the proposed questions.
Attendees learned about amazing facts from the world of Ukrainian language and literature, which are constantly covered on a virtual platform - the library blog "Book Continent". In fair competitions, the team "Local Historians" received the title of the best connoisseur of the Ukrainian language and a symbolic prize.
The participants got acquainted with books and periodicals on the topic of the event from the fund of the regional library at the exhibition "Native language - the life of the spiritual basis".
